IKK epsilon is a noncanonical I-kappa-B kinase (IKK) that is essential for regulating antiviral signaling pathways that has also been identified as a breast cancer oncogene and is amplified and overexpressed in over 30% of breast carcinomas and breast cancer cell lines . IKK-epsilon is a part of a novel PMA-inducible I-kappa-B kinase complex which play an essential role for an in triggering the host antiviral response to viral infection. IKKE plays a critical role in the IFN-inducible antiviral transcriptional response .
