Murine Pyruvate kinase M2 (PKM2), also known as PKM1/M2, isoform a (GenBank Accession No. NM_011099), a.a. 2-end, with N-terminal His-tag, MW = 58 kDa, expressed in an E. coli expression system.
Specific activity: >=11 pmol/min/ug.
Background
PKM1 and PKM2 are different splicing products of the PKM gene (exon 9 for PKM1 and exon 10 for PKM2). The M1 isoform (PKM1) is expressed in muscle and brain, and the M2 isoform is expressed during embryogenesis, in adipose tissue and pancreatic islets, and is the predominant form found in cancer cells.
