Glutaraldehyde stabilized red blood cells are produced from freshly washed dog RBCs by brief eXposure to a glutaraldehyde-buffer solution and eXhaustIVe washing in saline. This treatment largely preserves the natIVe antigenicity of the erythrocytes.
