Description Specificity: This Polyclonal antibody is directed against human PINK1 protein. The product was purified from seurm by protein A chromatography. Expect reactivity with human PINK1. Cross-reactivity with PINK1 from other sources has not been determined.
Relevance: PINK1 (PTEN-induced putative kinase 1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that localises to mitochondria. It has been implicated in protecting cells from stress-induced mitochondrial dysfunction. Mutations in this gene are thought to be the cause of autosomal recessive early-onset Parkinson disease 6 (PARK6).
