Description	PSA is a glycoprotein discovered from human seminal plasma. As a member of the human kallikrein gene family, PSA is a serine protease secreted by the prostatic epithelium and the epithelial lining of the periurethral glands. As a tumor marker, PSA was found with relatively higher sensitivity than that of prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) in the screening of prostate cancer. PSA also can be used as the early detection for differentiating high-grade prostate adenocarcinoma from high-grade urothelial carcinoma.
