Villin is part of the gelsolin family of calcium regulated actin binding proteins. It is commonly expressed in the brush border of epithelial cells lining the gastrointestinal tract, hepatobiliary tract and renal proximal convoluted tubules, but in colorectal carcinoma, villin is highly expressed. SensiStainTM Anti-Recombinant Villin Antibody is a valuable tool for the identification of the protein in tissues and cell lysates.
