This receptor binds polymeric IgA and IgM at the basolateral surface of epithelial cells. The complex is then transported across the cell to be secreted at the apical surface. During this process a cleavage occurs that separates the extracellular (known as the secretory component) from the transmembrane segment.
Specificity
Natural and recombinant Bovine Polymeric immunoglobulin receptor
Subcellular Location
Secretory component Secreted
Entryname
PIGR_BOVIN
Linearity
The linearity of the kit was assayed by testing samples spiked with appropriate concentration of PIgR and their serial dilutions. The results were demonstrated by the percentage of calculated concentration to the expected.
Intra-assay Precision (Precision within an assay):Three samples of known concentration were tested twenty times on one plate to assess intra-assay precision.
Intra-Assay CV: ≤3.5
Inter-assay Precision (Precision between assays):Three samples of known concentration were tested in five separate assays to assess inter-assay precision.
Inter-Assay CV: ≤7.1
Protein Name
Polymeric immunoglobulin receptor
Recovery
Recovery was determined by spiking various levels of PIgR into serum and plasma .
