Vitronectin is a glycoprotein commonly found in tissues and the extra-cellular matrix. It is commonly used as a thin coating on tissue culture surfaces. Vitronectin promotes the adhesion, differentiation, migration, and proliferation of many cells in vitro. It is a secreted protein and exists in either a single chain form or a clipped, two chain form held together by a disulfide bond.
