Propagation
Use of PriCoatTMT25 Flasks (G299) or Applied Cell Extracellular Matrix (G422) is required for cell adhesion to the culture vessels. Grow cells inECM-coated culture vessels unless otherwise specified in the Propagation Requirements below. The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow I medium available in ABM, Cat. No. TM001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum (TM999)* to a final concentration of 10% and Penicillin/Streptomycin(G255). Atmosphere: air, 95%; Carbon dioxide (CO2), 5%.* abm does not recommend to use heat-inactivated FBS for cell culture unless specified otherwise.
Applications
For research only, The Human Urinary Bladder Smooth Muscle Cell is unique in its, Ability to contract upon exposure to 10uM bethanechol and the contraction is reversible by washing away the drug, First known established smooth muscle cell line to express both N- and C- terminal smooth muscle myosin isoforms
