Human NFkB Luciferase Reporter Cell Line-HEK293; is derived from human embryonic kidney, and stably express firefly luciferase reporter gene under the control of the NFkB response element. This cell line is an ideal cellular model for monitoring the activation of NFkB Receptor Signaling Pathway triggered by stimuli treatment, enforced gene expression and gene knockdown. The Human NFKB reporter (luc) cell line-HEK293 from AcceGen is designed for screening inhibitors of NF-kB and for monitoring NF-kB signaling pathway activity. It contains a firefly luciferase gene driven by four copies of NF-kB response element located upstream of the minimal TATA promoter. After activation by pro-inflammatory cytokines or stimulants of lymphokine receptors, endogenous NF-kB transcription factors bind to the DNA response elements, inducing transcription of the luciferase reporter gene. The cell line has been screened using the PCR-based VenorGeM Mycoplasma Detection kit (Sigma Aldrich) to confirm the absence of Mycoplasma species.
