CHD8 has a role in chromatin dynamics, transcription and cell survival in which it interacts with p53 to regulate cell cycle genes. It has been associated with developmental disorders like ASD (autism spectrum disorders). CHD8+/+ induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) were derived from skin fibroblasts obtained from a typically developing male control who had a normal karyotype. The line is the isogenic control used to generate T2500, in which a CHD8 allele was knocked out using CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing. The two lines can be utilized by researchers interested in brain development, neurodevelopmental disorders, and cancer.
