Liposomal zinc is designed for delivery of zinc across the cell membranes. Zinc chloride at an inteal concentration of 2 mM is encapsulated in the liposome. The exteal zinc concentration is 0.2 mM. To ensure the delivery efficiency, the lipid composition of the liposomal zinc is the same as that for a liposomal drug in clinic which is HSPC: DSPE-PEG2000: cholesterol (3:1:1, mass ratio). The average size of liposomes is about 110 nm.
The PEGylated Liposomal Zinc (Catalog No. PHPC002ZN) includes 2 ml of 2 mM ZnCl2 encapsulated in 7 mg/ml PEGylated liposomes. The exteal solution is 0.1 M NaCl.
