Liposomal phosphate is designed for delivery of phosphate across the cell membranes. Potassium phosphate at an inteal concentration of 150 mM is encapsulated in the liposome. The exteal phosphate concentration is 0.002 mM. To ensure the delivery efficiency, the lipid composition of the liposomal phosphate is the same as that for a liposomal drug in clinic which is HSPC: DSPE-PEG2000: cholesterol (3:1:1, mass ratio). The average size of liposomes is about 120 nm.
The PEGylated Liposomal Phosphate (Catalog No. PHPC002PS) includes 2 ml of 150 mM potassium phosphate encapsulated in 7 mg/ml PEGylated liposomes. The exteal solution is 0.1 M NaCl.
