Product Overview

Anti-Trigger factor Polyclonal Antibody is a rabbit IgG antibody detecting bacterial Trigger factor (TF), the ribosome-associated molecular chaperone and peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (EC 5.2.1.8) encoded by the tig gene. Trigger factor is a ~48 kDa protein. Involved in protein export. Acts as a chaperone by maintaining the newly synthesized protein in an open conformation. Functions as a peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase. The antibody was raised against E. coli-derived recombinant Trigger factor (Met1-Ala432) and purified by antigen affinity chromatography, and cross-reacts broadly across Enterobacteriaceae, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Shigella, and Klebsiella species.

Validated Applications

Application ELISA, IHC, WB
Recommended Dilution ELISA: 1:5000–1:20000; IHC: 1:50–1:500; WB: 1:500–1:2000

Optimal working dilutions should be determined empirically for each application and sample type.

Immunogen

E. coli-derived recombinant Trigger factor (Met1-Ala432).

Reactivity Notes

Reported cross-reactivity spans thirty-nine enterobacterial strains and serotypes: Salmonella gallinarum, Escherichia coli O81, Salmonella enteritidis PT4, Shigella sonnei, Escherichia coli O6:H1, Escherichia coli O7:K1, Shigella flexneri serotype 5b, Shigella flexneri, Escherichia coli O157:H7, Salmonella agona, Cronobacter sakazakii, Salmonella choleraesuis, Escherichia coli O139:H28, Shigella dysenteriae serotype 1, Escherichia coli O6:K15:H31, Salmonella paratyphi B, Salmonella paratyphi C, Escherichia coli O45:K1, Salmonella heidelberg, Salmonella schwarzengrund, Salmonella arizonae, Klebsiella pneumoniae subsp. pneumoniae, Escherichia coli O127:H6, Salmonella paratyphi A, Enterobacter sp., Shigella boydii serotype 4, Escherichia coli O8, Citrobacter koseri, Salmonella dublin, Escherichia coli, Salmonella newport, Escherichia fergusonii, Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella typhi, Escherichia coli O9:H4, Escherichia coli O17:K52:H18, Shigella boydii serotype 18, Escherichia coli O1:K1 / APEC, Klebsiella variicola.

Safety & Handling

For research use only. Not intended for use in humans, for diagnostic, or for therapeutic procedures. This product contains Proclin 300 as preservative; follow standard laboratory safety practices.

Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for?
A.It is validated for ELISA (1:5000–1:20000), IHC (1:50–1:500), and Western Blot (1:500–1:2000). Optimal dilutions should be determined for each sample type.
Q.Which bacterial species does this antibody detect?
A.It detects Trigger factor across thirty-nine enterobacterial strains, including Escherichia coli (multiple serotypes), Salmonella, Shigella, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Cronobacter sakazakii, Citrobacter koseri, and Enterobacter species.
Q.What was the immunogen?
A.E. coli-derived recombinant Trigger factor spanning Met1-Ala432 — essentially the full-length protein — which underlies the antibody's broad epitope coverage.
Q.What band size should I expect on Western Blot?
A.Trigger factor is a ~48 kDa protein; expect a band near 48–56 kDa depending on the gel system and strain.
Q.How is this antibody supplied and preserved?
A.It is supplied as a liquid in 0.01M PBS pH 7.4 with 50% glycerol and 0.05% Proclin 300 as preservative. Refer to the datasheet for storage conditions.
