Description	Human HEK293S GnT I-/- parental cell line was infected with recombinant lentivirus carrying the FUT8 gene in the pLV-CT vector to establish the Stable FUT8 Over-expressing HEK293S GnT I-/- Cell Line. FUT8 gene encodes for the fucosyltransferase 8 enzyme (alpha1,6-fucosyltransferase) which is involved with the transfer of fucose from GDP-fucose to N-linked type complex glycopeptides. It has been linked that FUT8 can independently fucosylate high mannose N-glycans without GnTI. Manipulated to over express FUT8, these cells can be utilized for studies relating to fucosylation and the involvement of the enzyme.

Propagation	The base medium for this cell line is 50:50 mix of EX-Cell (Sigma) and FreeStyleTM 293 Medium (Life Technologies). Add 1 mug/ml puromycin (G264.) for selection. Grow cells in shaker shaking at 140 rpm/min. Carbon dioxide (CO2): 5%, Temperature: 37.0°C. Do not let cells grow above 3x106 cells/ml, and recommend to passage cells every 2-3 days.
