Description	Fusing a kinase domain to a homodimerization domain such as the PNT domain of ETV6 can result in activated kinase. The FYN Stable Ba/F3 Cell Line expresses activated FYN tyrosine kinase that is linked to a GFP reporter (GFP-ETV6-FYN in MSCV-puro vector). Ba/F3 cells expressing activated tyrosine kinase become completely dependent on the kinase activity for survival and as a result, the cells can be propagated even in the absence of IL-3.FYN belongs to the SRC non-receptor tyrosine kinase family consisting of some proteins which are expressed in all tissues, while others are expressed in hemapoietic cells. This family has a large influence in the regulation of biological functions, ranging from gene transcription and cell growth to immune cell function and insulin production. FYN is a membrane-associated tyrosine kinase that has been implicated in the control of cell growth.

Propagation	The base medium for this cell line is Prigrow II medium available at abm, Cat. No. TM002. May be grown with presence of 1 mug/ml puromycin but is not required for optimal cell growth. Carbon dioxide(CO2): 5%, Temperature: 37.0°C.
